 Cisco IOSvL2    (vios_l2-adventerprisek9-m.03.2017.qcow2)

Note:
Since prerequisite for these labs are Cisco VIRL images, Frame Relay Cloud in original topology from the Cisco will be replaced by IOSvL2 switch and configured appropriately to imitate sub-interfaces for the point-to-point links. Access to the Cloud not available. All interfaces on the Cloud are configured as 802.1q Trunk, permitting VLAN 12,23,34.

Objective:

Sandy new network engineer just started her job, her main responsibility will be dealing with switches, for some reason documentations were missing and she decided to create her own. While investigating network devices and their interconnections, she notices that there are redundant gateways for VLANs.

Next day she was assisting users in VLAN 10, she needed to restart IP services on their laptops multiple times while obtaining IP addresses, something calls her attention, from the previous day she remembers that VLAN 10 has multiple paths to the outside networks but all laptops getting the same DHCP server.

 Instruction:

 Open terminal to both Clients PCs and obtain an IP address via DHCP, by typing "ip dhcp" command. Use the " show ip" command to see detailed information regarding IP configurations.

Find out why is DHCP SERVER always 10.1.4.9 instead of something else!

Keep trying to obtain an IP address again on both PCs until you will see the different output for DHCP SERVER line of the "show ip" command. 


Validation:
 DHCP SERVER line in the output of "show ip" will not be 10.1.4.9.
