IS-IS Lab 15 Troubleshoot Multi-Area
Previous Next
Download Lab: VIRL | EVE-NG | GNS3
Image requirements:
Cisco IOSv (vios-adventerprisek9-m.vmdk.SPA.156-2.T)
Introduction:
Based on the previous lab, here, you will figure out what went wrong while the transition to multi-area IS-IS from a single L2 area, after configurations to the topology has been applied, multiple routers unable to ping IP addresses of other routers from their loopback 0 interfaces. This is a troubleshooting scenario lab, the main task is to restore connectivity caused by improper IS-IS implementation done in the last lab.
Nodes Access:
Enable: cisco
Username: cisco
Password: cisco
Topology:
Shows IPv4 and IPv6 addresses of Loopback 0 interfaces.
Reported issues:
1. Router A2 unable to ping any IP addresses assigned to loopback 0 interfaces in the topology if sourced from its own loopback 0 interface.
2. Router B2 unable to ping any IP addresses assigned to loopback 0 interfaces in the topology if sourced from its own loopback 0 interface.
3. Router D2 unable to ping any IP addresses assigned to loopback 0 interfaces in the topology if sourced from its own loopback 0 interface.
4. Router E2 unable to ping any IP addresses assigned to loopback 0 interfaces in the topology if sourced from its own loopback 0 interface.
Validation:
1. When ping is successful from A2's loopback 0 to B2's loopback 0...
2. When ping is successful from B2's loopback 0 to D2's loopback 0...
3. When ping is successful from D2's loopback 0 to E2's loopback 0...
your troubleshooting effort will be completed.
